SGH consulted on a complex combination of below-grade and plaza waterproofing for the podium and skypark; screen walls for the above-grade parking; exterior cladding and fenestration systems for the Wegmans, retail space, and the tower; and the tower’s roofing. Highlights of our work include:

• Reviewed the building enclosure design for airtightness, watertightness, thermal performance, condensation resistance, and constructability, and recommended ways to improve performance
• Helped develop details to integrate the various enclosure systems, including the interface between the tower and the podium, expansion joints between the performance arts structure and the podium, transitions between the Wegmans storefront and the podium wall systems, and temporary enclosures at the future tower locations
• Consulted on the tower’s window wall systems that bypass the slab edge and field detailing for the prefabricated, panelized backup wall comprising cold-formed metal framing, sheathing, and an air barrier
• Provided construction phase services, including reviewing contractor submittals, answering requests for information, periodically visiting the construction site to observe installation of the enclosure systems to compare with the design intent, and helping the contractor address complex field conditions
