Repair of Draped Mesh Concrete Slabs

Kirk M. Stauffer and Kevin C. Poulin published an article titled, “Repair of Draped Mesh Slabs,” in the January/February 2015 issue of Concrete Repair Bulletin.  In the article, Kirk and Kevin discuss the history, prevalence, structural behavior, methods of analysis, and material properties of draped-mesh concrete slabs and the special subcase of cinder-concrete draped-mesh slabs.  They then discuss repair methodologies (partial-depth, topping slab, full-depth, and supplemental support) to address deterioration, damage, and change-of-use.
